Today is another weigh-in. I weigh and then we pack and leave for Daytona Beach. Will meet the family there so will have a good time celebrating some birthdays. Of course there is the traveling challenge. When you are gone a week each month, you have to overcome the traveling challenge if you are going to lose weight.
Last Monday was my birthday. I splurged a little. So don’t know how this will affect my weigh-in today. I’ll sneak up on the scale and scare it. Maybe it will be lower than last week’s weigh-in where I was up 2 pounds.
I did find out an interesting fact about what I have been lifting. We have a large sinkhole so I have been getting bags of rock to fill it in. I can get 12 bags in the car. I put one of the bags on the scale and it weighs 50 pounds. So if I lift 12 bags at 50 pounds, I’m lifting 600 pounds. But I lift it off the pallet at Lowe’s and put it on a cart. I push the cart to the car and I lift it off the cart and into the car. I drive home and lift it out of the car onto a cart. I roll the cart to the sinkhole and lift it off and throw it into the hole. I lift the bag again to pour it out. That’s 5 times I lift these 12 bags. That’s 3,000 pounds. That’s 1 ½ tons every time I go get a load. If I do that two to three times a week, that’s a lot of weight I’m lifting. Charlene does give me a hand which helps. No wonder I’m beat after I get the rocks in the hole. So far I’ve lifted 192 bags times 50 pounds which equals 9,600 pounds or 48,000 pounds or 24 tons. (This doesn’t include the sand and topsoil bags.) I’m getting close to half way.
I added another calculator to the front page. It’s an ideal weight calculation. It gives a very rough idea of what your idea weight range should be based on your height in inches. So the range is fairly wide. Mine shows 128.95 to 173.56. I have a long way to go. My Dad who was my height and frame was 165 all his life. That would be in that range. Charlene is in the middle of her range. (She’s done real well on “The Plan”.)
So give it a try to see if you are in the range. It goes along with the BMI which tells you if you are obese, overweight, or normal. These are just some tools to help you in your weight loss journey.
